Anyone know of a source for exhaust manifold heat wrap with a silver finish?

I'm based near Chester.

For your gaskets you could try Huddart Racing Engines in Crewe, there on the web. Or Real Steel for mail order on 01895-440505, I've used them for many years.

For your exhaust wrap try Demon-tweeks.co.uk there based in Wrexham.

I'm not near Stafford, and I don't have an Ultima....

....but I do have a SBC built by Tim Adams Racing Engines, which is in Market Drayton, so not a million miles away. Although an engine builder and not a regular parts retailler, he will carry things like gaskets etc.

I'm a few miles north of Chester.

I can here the action at Oulton Park from my girlfriends house about a mile away.

I've only had the CanAm for 2 months. You can read my Newbie Intro to find out my plans for the car.

Very interesting project for the winter months.

My car is fuel injected and I am also considering whether to fit a supercharger or turbo.

I have only had the car for 2 weeks (sold a Ferrari to buy it - am I mad????). Currently got the body off and cleaning everything and checking the car through. It has been built to a very high standard and cannot find much wrong. One thing I have found though, the lower rear wishbone bush (left hand as you look at it) has a lot of play in it and needs replacing - the car has covered 8000 miles (I assume this bush gets all the grief when the power is down).

If you are ever in the Stoke-on-Trent area, I would welcome the opportunity to meet and talk Ultima's.
