Hi
Has anyone altered the chassis rail, which is directly under the engine so that it can be removed to allow the sump to be taken off with the engine still in the car. If so I would appreciate details & pics if possible. Perhaps the factory would comment if this mod is workable.

Talking to Ted at the Donington show, much work went into designing this cross member. It is an extremely important part of the chassis. It takes all the stresses from the lower wishbone mounting point and the strength of the chassis would be seriously compromised if it was removed or made removable, ie bolted in place.
