Oil changes

Sunny afternoon & thought I know I will change the oil in the GTR for the 1st time - wont take more than 1 hr- how wrong can you be.
Firstly Oil filter must have been put on last time by a gorila eventually got it off. Then the sump plug- who designed the position on the canton winged sump - right above the crossmember & so close that i cant get the nut to turn.
HELP please, is there an easy answer or does the engine have to come out to chge the oil.

Did you check to see if there is another sump plug?

Or for next time have the chassis rail made into a removable item?
