Pacet profan upgrade

For those of you out there with older models that may suffer overheating problems I've discovered that it is possible to uprate the standard motors when you order new Pacet profans direct from the manufacturer. Useful if, like me, you are space limited on fan diameter.

I've just ordered three of the 295mm fans with the "602" motor - after discussion, I believe the most powerful they supply.

Added as postfix to the part.

Hoping that and the new ally rad will do the job.

Beware of the v.high current draw though - you may need a relay on your fan switch.

Just as an FYI for anyone considering this. I ordered these, and it takes quite a bit of work to fit these fans in. You must cut the bodywork as the height of the fan is quite a bit taller than the stnadard TriPac fans. Radiator grill must be removed and the fan is physically bigger which required new mounts. These are not drop in fans.

With that said initial impressions are very good. Fans blow about 3x the air as the Tripac fans and the engine will cycle between 80C and 90C without overheating, at least in the garage on a cool day. This is with a 550Hp aluminum EFI SBC.

Cannot say I had anywhere near the same bodywork fitting troubles on my Sport but the fans do flow very well once in as you say.

For others following a similar upgrade path it may possible to use smaller dia fans and less powerful (lower) motors. Possibly you could post a pic of your achievements with a few words of guidance?
