Reckon these could be added to the shop, instead of the GB logo or near the GB log the PH smiley?

They'd be illegal wouldnt they?

Also opens a can of worms with regards to the document requirements for making plates up.

Suppose you could sell stickers in the same dimensions as the GB logo without much issue...

Wonder how long it will take them to close the loophole that allows companies in Ireland and such places to make plates to your own specifications.

Seems rather daft to impose the restrictions that they have on suppliers in the UK, when those restrictions are so easy to circumvent.

Instead of actual plates that have dubious legal status, why not go for the German stlye numberplate backings with space for a smiley and lettering below the plate, where dealers often place their details..?

Hi Guys,

We have looked into doing some number plate surrounds but most of the samples have been a bit cheep and tacky, not really what we want to associate with the PH brand.

The idea of a sticker to go over the GB is a good one but i think even if we were making a sticker with the intent to change the appearance of the plate could get us in hot water frown

Any other ideas more than welcome!

Dave.

Now, the way we work in halfords is like so.

We have strip stickers that go along the bottom of the plate that say 'not road legal'

If you were to produce stickers that would go in place of the flag that had 'not road legal'(in small writing at the bottom of the flag) written on them then you could not get in trouble for producing them.

Thats how we as a company can still produce 'show plates' as this sticker is laminated into the actual plate itself so cannot be removed without either A)cutting the plate or B)dis-assembling the plate.

You could then produced a sticker that could be stuck to the vinyl backing of a plate and then be laminated into the plate without running the risk of breaking the law.

Just a suggestion.

Thom

I once bought a couple PCGB stickers for the plates. One journey into central France with some rain and the front one was plain white.....

Im sure you could sell "Signs" that happen to be white/yellow and the size/shape of a numberplate with the PH logo on, OBVIOUSLY NOT FOR ROAD USE!

Just for garage/parking space marking biggrin
