PistonHeads is 15!
A decade and a half has flown by since PH was created and here's how we're celebrating
1998 was a big year in the motoring world, along with the creation of PistonHeads, we also saw the launch of the Peugeot 306 Rallye, Audi TT, BMW Z3 M Roadster and the Subaru Impreza 22B amongst others.
The Alfa Romeo 156 was awarded European Car of the Year and here is the TV advert for it. 1998 was also the year that Google was created so that's two internet giants founded in one year. The UK managed to secure second place in the Eurovision Song Contest too, and everyone remembers the song? If not, check out 'Where are you?' by Imaani here.
A lot has happened since 1998 (or MCMXCVIII as the Romans would say); it was nine years before the first iPhone was released and, in fact, that year we were introduced to the game Snake on the Nokia 5110 (how times have changed eh?). It was eight years before Twitter was launched and six years before Facebook was founded.
We have created some brilliant PH birthday related goodies for you too. A couple of the designs are below but the full range can be seen here.
PH is also having a little birthday shindig to mark this momentous occasion. Full details on the 15th birthday party here.

Top lurking BTW!

P.s. member ID 56 is petty impressive. Makes my #139 look positively recent :-) I wonder what proportion of the first couple of hundred members had a TVR at that point?

Ah, the days when Steve Barber writing off the original BAD 5H1T Cerbie were front page news! Just incredible the progress and growth that PH has achieved, as others have fallen by the wayside.

I remember meeting Dave 'in field' at Donny putting a PH flyer behind the wiper of my S2 when he was drumming up interest in his 'new' site. Think most of us were Tiv owners back then.

And yes, I had a TVR at that time.
Look in the URL for the profile for the 'memberId' field: that is your membership number.
For example, in your case you are number 23,741:
