2 inch sticker - how much for postage??

As an ebay seller you have to send by recorded delivery otherwise you don't comply with the selling rules. If the buyer claims non-delivery you don't have a leg to stand on and will end up giving the item to them for free.Was about to start the same thread myself! BUT, then to charge £3 for postage of a 2" sticker is, frankly, criminal.
I just received an item in a jiffy pack from China. The item cost £1 and came with free postage. So if something can be produced AND come half way round the world for a quid, how the heck did someone come up with the bright idea that's it's ok to charge £3 to post something from f

Off to get my own stickers made up elsewhere I think (purely for personal use, not resale obviously).
This reflects really badly on PH. Most people I'm sure just think this and aren't sad enough to type up a rant, so please take on board the feedback you're getting from us few posters - we represent the sentiments of a far greater body.

How is £2 to print a sticker advertising a commercial site "not worth their while", when I imagine it only costs a few pence to print? Other industries would kill for margins like that! But that's not my beef, my "beef" is with the postage cost, it's borderline fraudulent to label it as 'postage' if they're trying to make further money on the side for it. Why not charge £4.50 for the sticker and 50p for the postage if that's what it's cost them. No, clearly that would be too clear cut for the consumer.

+1, although I was looking at 3.5"Cheeky beggars only show the cost for p&p once you've jumped through several hoops. Order cancelled.

If someone was to buy 5 stickers at the current price, they would pay a total of £13. With your proposed system, the price would be £23 for the same 5 stickers.

One of the problems with the high cost base in the UK is that doing anything here is massively more expensive than elsewhere. In consequence we are exporting jobs. The cost of postage has become prohibitive for many businesses. I suspect the floating of the PO will be seen as an excuse to raise postage further. There are many examples every day of jobs in the UK being done by immigrants at wage levels below the rates that the indigenous population are actually prepared to accept. The consequences are all around us. In this case of course it is profiteering which is never welcome,BUT, then to charge £3 for postage of a 2" sticker is, frankly, criminal.

just about to start exactly the same thread, a subtle smiley next to the badge on my current barge as I have done with most of my dailys but 2.99 for postage !

Hello, we do appreciate what you are saying. However, we don't buy stickers in bulk, we make them to order so that we can offer the widest possible range and this means that we make absolutely minimal profit on them. Our postage across the site is a flat £2.99 no matter what you order (unless you spend over £50, in which case it is free), and we have found that a very small number of people come to the site to buy individual stickers. The alternative to what we currently offer is to massively reduce our range and produce a couple of designs in limited colours so we can reduce costs that way but we do not think that this is the option that most PistonHeads customers would prefer (though let me know if we’re wrong!).
