New 'Definition' shirts now available

Five new designs have been added to the PistonHeads merchandise range

The PistonHeads team are feeling pretty good today, it’s Friday, we’ve filled another Sunday Service and we are pleased to unveil five new PistonHeads ‘definition’ shirts too.

As PHers we understand the world better than most, we know the most about cars, we know how to drive well and we all know how to get the most from our weekend (ie, hooning not shopping).

But some folk need education, and that’s where these shirts come in. Not only are they superb PH-inspired shirts in their own right, they also do a great job of explaining why we do what we do to the uninitiated.

The five new designs cover V8, Apex, B-Road, OversteerandLepton joining our existing range of Shed, PHer, Man-Maths, hoon, tunnel, barge and bork.

Is it just me or is the Apex one wrong?

The apex is the point on the inside of the corner not the line itself

Being a pedant, I'd argue that 'Lepton' is actually a unit of speed, rather than velocity.

Velocity is a vector physical quantity that defines how fast and in which directionan object is moving. Speed is a scalar quantity that describes the magnitude of the velocity.

I therefore move that Lepton is a unit of speed.

I don't think I've ever looked in the shop before. My goodness, you'd have to be an iredeemable to wear some of those, wouldn't you? The Mental? VBRJ? What kind of colossal bellend would wear those? Imagine having to explain to an innocent what it's actually about.

You'd literally cringe yourself to death. And if you didn't, should.

Agree with Cossey: it's the optimal point of exit from the curve if you've taken the right line, hence "clip the apex". Come on PH, keep up!

Being that I penned it, I would argue that the lepton is not a unit of speed. The lepton is defined by speed, mood, location, vehicle, other passengers, time of day, and any multitude of other factors; hence it is a vector quantity in multivariant N-space. I figured that velocity was the nearest meaningful laymans term.

This definition was not just thrown together after a few pints y'know. Thanks to Colvette for the inspiration

I have to agree. You'd have to be an extremely tragic, basement dwelling neckbeard to even consider wearing any of these down the pub.

Although, having just flicked through the range again, the thought of someone walking into the boozer with a T-shirt saying "Shedmeister" is giving me a bloody good chuckle.

I'm glad it's not just me. There are some nice subtle ones in there, but so many are just screaming "look at me, I'm part of an injoke". You just have to imagine how the look to anybody else! I miss the days of general PH apparel with just a subtle logo (fleece, beanie, etc.)
