New product idea - Vinyl backing for phones?

The cases are great but I don't like the fact that they increase the bulk of the phone and often make fitting them in cars kits difficult.

How about a vinyl rear protector with the current case designs but printed to vinyl?

A bit like what this company offers (maybe even get them to do it?)

There seem to be a few who already do this, but I'm sure there's space in the market for another. For example:

Some only do iPhone, others do Samsung, HTC, etc. as well.

The only thing I'd suggest from buying a couple from various places is to get the vinyl cut lines in the correct place, as I've had 3 where you can either get the top to line up, or the bottom, but not both, and then you still have the cutout for the camera with an uneven gap around it (i.e. 0mm at the left and 3mm at the right - with the skin right to the left edge of the phone back).

Just to be clear, I'm not looking to use the PH designs and then go to one of those places, I'm asking for the PH Shop to do it and sell them officially through the shop.

I agree.

Maybe some of the 'wireframe' cars currently on T-Shirts would lend themselves to these uses, or a bit, fat, foldaround PH smiley

Exactly, the designs would transfer extremely easily to vinyl stickers so any of the designs would do.

The shop already does iPhone cases with different designs on them. It'd be very easy to get them to do ones with the line drawings on them - if enough people ask they'll do it!

But I don't want a plastic case because it adds bulk and stops it fitting in docks and stuff.
This option is cheap and the designs are already there.

Fair point! I quite like the idea of these vinyls too actually.

I think the line drawings would look spiffing as vinyl appliques.
