New PistonHeads T-shirts launched today

...in addition to mugs and mousemats too!

In a recent survey of 100 people, the top three things that gave the most pleasure in life were (in order of happiness achieved) wearing a reasonably priced T-shirt, drinking tea and browsing the internet, I think everyone will agree with these findings.

Upon learning the results of this fictional survey, the PistonHeads clothing emporium immediately set to work in creating a new range of mugs, mousemats and added to the already rather splendid range of T-shirts available within the new and improved PistonHeads shop.

When we released our first batch of tees from ‘Shot Dead in the Head’ we listened to the feedback you gave and took heed of comments saying that some designs were too brash, and not everyone wanted to wear a ‘funny’ slogan on their shirt. We agree - so this time we hope there is something for everyone.

PistonHeads was launched in 1998, hence the ‘98’ featured on some of the shirts, and we have also added many new car designs along with shirts that feature some of your favourite driving roads….and other routes you might not have heard of. The immortal wording of ‘PistonHeads.com’ makes a welcome return, too, and if PHers ever doubt your comments in a future post, just take a picture of yourself in your new ‘Custard Test’ T-shirt to prove your point effectively and easily.

Hot tea is a pain to hold cupped in bare hands, so in a world first we offer a sturdy holder (free handle included) to carry your drink without having to visit the casualty department immediately after. Featuring some of the best designs from our T-shirts, there is a mug to suit everyone.

The same goes for mousemats: if you have a mouse, treat it to a mat today and we guarantee your internet browsing will be more enjoyable than ever before with improved performance across the click range.

"What about the stickers?" we hear you cry. Well, we are conscious that we need to get these just right and we are now in the final stages of testing. Later this week we will be applying a few test vinyls to Riggers's Puma to determine stickiness and ease of removal.

No doubt we’ll take the mighty Ford back to primer in places, but we wont rest until we have the perfect item and once we have found it we’ll have them on sale within days. Big thanks go to Riggers for allowing us to ruin his car (we haven’t told him yet, but it’s in his job description).

In addition to the stickers polo shirts, a full Le Mans range and a competition or two will follow very soon, but for now go and take a look at the range. As usual feedback is expected and encouraged. Here are a few of our chosen highlights:

A step forward, though still prefer some of my older PH shirts.

What does the Japanese/Chinese on the blue shirt mean?

Probably based on Superdry shirts.

Was just about to say; They have a whiff of Superdry about them.

I quite like the mug though smile Shame I don't have a V8...

Albeit, "2.5L 5 Cylinder Turbo - I'm doing my bit for global warming" doesn't have the same ring to it...

Can someone point me to a plain white tee-shirt with a black Piston Heads logo on it? That's all I want.

Liking the idea of the classic driving roads theme. But can we have some classic cars with linked statements. I'm thinking Mini, you were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!!!

We'll soon run a few competitions asking PHers to suggest shirt designs. The winners not only see their shirts in production, but will also earn a commission from sales too.

With that in mind you may want to keep good ideas close to your chest for now smile

Nice designs on the shirts, but not seeing any sort of identity, or to use a wkey word, branding. Ho hum.

Tell us more? Do you mean in terms of a fixed logo position, or something else?

Genuinely interested as we need feedback like this.

I'd kind of expect to see the piston/smiley somewhere on the shirt, as that's the visual identity. It won't always be appropriate on the front, but it would be nice to see it somewhere, emphasising the PH origin, not just being a random design about cars, or strange gifts to womenfolk.

Yep, just a small PH smiley on the sleeve on all of them should do it...................
