In the real world, we can't imagine anyone wanting to drive in these races for the whole six hours. Nevertheless, a team can comprise of one driver, and one member of support crew.
Most of the indications that we've had so far are for teams of three or four drivers with the same number of cars.

I have to say I do not understand the BARC in announcing/promoting this race so late. We would have liked to do this race but we would have needed to know about it probably before the winter rebuild so that we had an engine etc ready and adjusted the budget to cope with this race.
I suspect like many club/historic racers we have a budget for the year and a race like this would take up a big chunk of it which is why it must be planned for. As it happens we have committed to going to Spa on the 14/15 June so unfortunately we cannot make it.

Thanks for the feedback. To be honest, it was first announced back in February BUT, it wasn't followed through until much later, mainly because of a contractual issue.
I think that it's fair to say that if this format, or something similar, is revisited for 2012, it will be done so much sooner and with a lot more noise!

You could have entered the 360MRC 6 hour race last w/e at Snetterton, Nigel. Anounced a very long time ago. Very suited to your car & more of a classic event (cut off is 1990 & no sports racers like Chevrons etc). Cars varied from a Mk1 Jag to a Porsche 924 to a 3 litre Ford Capri to a gorgeous Alfa Guilia 1600.I suspect like many club/historic racers we have a budget for the year and a race like this would take up a big chunk of it which is why it must be planned for. Next years event is already being planned.
PS. we came 8th in an Alfa Sprint.
We are considering entering this in our Westfield Aerorace - we are concentrating on Britcar this year with the Ultima but thought this could be a really good event, as long as we can find the right drivers for it! If anyone is interested please give us a shout. Might be a lot easier for people if they don't have their cars ready etc.
Thanks
Jonny
Thanks

Yes, I really enjoyed it. The teamwork & camaraderie were excellent. A different sort of racing but great. I fully recommend the 360 MRC 6 hour race.
I was there both this year and for the first one and I have to say that of all the meetings that I go to (I'm on circuit most weekends) this has to be one of my favorite events, the atmosphere and racing are absolutely fantastic, its just a pity that more people don't come along and get involved!Gassing Station | UK Club Motorsport | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
