exactly which class are you looking at?

(s)10.6.2 lighting equipment is not required unless the vehicle is currently licensed for use on the public highway and competing in the event in road legal condition.

assuming you are entering modified limited production or modified series production class (they generally run together) then the answer is no.

but only if MSA Logbooked in ModProd. If car has no MSA Logbook, then the car can run in MOdprod fine, but must have a current MOT, be taxed and run in a roadlegal manner.Essentially this means the lights have to be present, although ive never seen a scrute check they actually work. I have seen cars pulled up on flatspotted tyres though, where a section of the tyre is below legal limit of tread wear.
Well worth getting your car Log booked imho, saves all the MOT bol*ox if car is never used on the road

good point but, IME, and we are talking low key sprint events (I guess?) Scrutineers tend to not be that bothered. I do have a log book but have never been asked to present it at scrutineering. You can always request a log book at your first event and be given a temporary reciept while it is being processed, at least then you are showing a will to comply. Just make sure you battery is tightly secured!Essentially this means the lights have to be present, although ive never seen a scrute check they actually work.
