Hi guys

I'm looking into going in to some racing jointly with 3 of my brothers for ease of finance mainly

We are all beginners but only one of us will be the driver, the rest will build the car and maintain and act as track support and each of us may have the occasional go at track days or something

My question: is there an 80's saloon racing series in the uk that we could join in on?

The reason I ask this is I have a 190e cosworth that's seen better days but for us would be ideal to convert into a track car

I know the expense of converting it to a track based vehicle will be expensive but it's a project we all ate financing and want to take on

So to summarise we have a 190e that we want to turn into a race car and we want to go racing, are there any race series out there that we could get into??

Thanks in advance

Graham

have a look at classic and sports car club. they have a few categories that should fit. future classices, DM etc... 40 min pit stop races so 2 drivers too.. one thing though it much cheaper to buy a ready prepped car, although building yourself you do have the satisfaction of knowing how its put together

You will most probably find it actually cheaper to buy a ready built race car (especially if you include chopping your car in or using it for spares - e.g. rebuild engine and use that) than if you prep your car - it's money that you will NEVER see again (like most of racing infact hehe)

Definately have a look at Classic Sports Car Club (CSCC). Ideal for both novices & experienced people alike with very good driving standards and good value for money racing.

http://www.classicsportscarclub.co.uk/

Your car would be ideal for "Future Classics" or "Deutsche Marque". 40 min races with a compulsory pit stop so that 2 drivers can share a race (and costs) & we also do a 1 hour race at Spa every year.

The first meeting of the yerar is at Snetterton on 9/10 April, why not go along and have a look & talk to people in the paddock. I think that the FC & DM races are on the saturday but check the calendar on the club web site.

Any questions, feel free to PM me.
