Thinking out loud and wondered for example could one car i.e. mk2 escort be used for circuit racing and then during the winter months be used as a tarmac rally car. Would the setup change a great deal between the two different categories?

Thanks in advance

Are you asking from an MSA/FIA point of view or from a practical point of view?

I would imagine with adjustable bits you should be fine from a practical aspect.

MSA/FIA - as long as it complies all round then no issues at all.

i think you would be ok with tarmac rallies but the loose stuff requires a fair level of under body protection, i think the safety regs for rallies are tighter than racing, so you might have to have a bigger and more robust cage than racers can get away with as an eg. it wouldnt be that competitive but it would be achievable.

A guy races in the Northern Saloon & Sports Car Championship in a Datsun 240Z that he also rallies with.
I don't know what sort of rallies but I can ask him at our first meeting (if he's there!) if you want.

Ah, this must be this weeks bug is it Ross! :-D

As Steve says, Brian Morris has used his Datsun for both the NSSCC and the jack frost stages. What ye thinking?, class C (2.0 Litre) and a bit of rallying.

Jeff's thinking about having a spin in the NSSCC in class D next year, would be great if we could get the old trackday crew back together!
