Can someone here help me?. I am looking for someone/a few people to sponsor my cousin in the European Junior Cup. He has been selected along with one other UK national to represent the United Kingdom in the EJC championship. It consists of six races all featured before the World Superbike Races meaning there will be crowds of 100,000+ at the events. The sponsor/sponsors will get a logo wrap around the bike, on the leathers and helmet.

We are chasing a sponsorship amount of £13,000 but any sponsorship is appreciated and any contributors logos will be present on the bike/and or rider [obviously within reason].

My cousin, Jordan Gilbert, can be seen racing here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=008uqmozWpw). He recently received the Robert Ovenden Shield for most promising newcomer after his stunning season in the Aprilla SuperTeens Championship [more information at the end of the video]. As you can see from the video he is an extremely talented individual who's overtaking maneuvers guarantee TV coverage! He has achieved all of this in one season at the age of 14 and so is a very promising prospect for the future.

You would think people would want to sponsor him surely? What are we doing wrong?

All the best and thank you very much

As sponsorship requests go this one seems to actually have some merit. It's not for a ridiculous amount of money and is at a major event (albeit on the undercard).

My first thought is to put the emphasis on being able to invite the sponsors and their guests to watch the world standard racing as an insider (ie. paddock access etc.) which is a much more desirable 'product' than just having a sticker on a fast moving tiny bike. Even if you have to spent £2000 on tickets to give to sponsors I reckon you'd have more chance of getting £15k than £13k without them.

Being a bike racer instead of a car racer gives the advantage of being able to create a replica race bike that is much easier than a car for the sponsor to display at trade shows or in their shop/office/whatever.
