Does anybody have any experience of the ma5da mx5 challenge.?

A friend of mine is going to enter him and his boy in it this season they have a fair amount of motorsport experience between them.

The son has 7 years kart experience and the father has many years experience of fast fords saloon challenge and old jags.

Basically any hints and tips much appreciated we have bought a car so any tips on prepping the car will help too.

Adam,

I raced in it last year and will be in it again this year.

Sign up to the forum on the Ma5da website and you will have access to the drivers area were there are a couple of topics on car prep. wink

What car number are they?

Are there still two rival MX5 championships?

Remember, an MX5 can also be used in the CSCC "Future Classics" series so your mate & his son could drive together in the same race (40 minute races with a pit stop for a driver change). Good fun & good VFM. CSCC also has a 1 hour race at Spa.

max5 (barc) and ma5da(brscc) barc also appear to have an open sports car series for westfield, caterham, mx5 ( why are they competing against their own series) and TVR Tasmin ( although looking at their regs there are no racing tasmins that meet the spec <LOL>)

there was also a mx5 at the britcar media day!!!

Yes there are still 2 mx5 championships but the one I race in (ma5da championship) is MX5'S only with strict rules on what you can do to the car. At Silverstone on the 27th March we will have over 50 cars per race on the grid. Could be very tight into Copse corner I think smile

I thought the limit for Silverstone GP was 48? Still, more than fifty cars for a race meeting is an impressive achievement!

There should be more like 70+ cars at each meeting as 68(?) was the average turn out last season, but this year there are something like 130 registered cars and more available track time at each meeting.

I think (correct me if I am wrong) that we can have 54 cars per race at Silverstone Arena circuit.

54 sounds about right for the silverstone grid, but in terms of individual cars at the meeting there should be much more than that.
