blimey its been totally resurfaced, including half of the paddock..

the track is now billiard table smooth, and quite different to drive than before, so I expect Lap times to fall once its scrubbed in.

it was a bit hairy, when it rained today though, still releasing oils from the new surface as it was the first time its rained since it was laid.. It caught out quite a few, one very nice evo FQ became and Evo OF

Doesn't sound good

Anyone have any idea how long does it typically take for a track to stop releasing oils after resurfacing?

I'm looking at doing a sprint there in the middle of march, It will be the first time on track in the CSL and not sure I fancy it if the surface is going to be slippery, just not worth the risk.

The tarmac's not been down long and it was the first time its rained, so it will be better already now. once its rained a few more times it should be perfect.

In general the surface had loads of grip, and i was running on moulded slicks in the wet !!

All the lumps and bumps have gone so the surface was fantastic, the water runs differently so its almost like a new circuit to learn.

Is the line the same through Gerards, you used not be able to use the out side due to the bad surface but if it is all new there may be a better way round now?

They even had some left over to do the pits too! Was there yesterday to very impressed with the new surface I had excellent levels of grip considering conditions but then I'm not running big power. It has to be said the driving standards were terrible yesterday everybody trying to be a hero from the get go and not easing into it.

Good ! I hope theyve done the bit in the pits next to 'oil thingy', this is where the jacks on my RV sunk through on a nice hot summer day !

I'm going to have to find a new braking point for the corner at the end of the back straight. I used to use the change of surface, as I'm sure a lot of people did.

Lol, that was my first thought reading the op. Can still use the bike chicane as a marker, where the tarmac change used to be.
