Anyone here use a Bell helmet with DSAF visor??
Discussion
After enduring problems with the antifog coating on my Sparco helmet's visor every time I competed in the wet (open cockpit car), I'm looking for an alternative race helmet that doesn't have a visor system that is coated inside with an antifog coating layer. ( - I found that everytime water/rain droplets get on the inside of the Sparco visor, the antifog coating would absorb the moisture/water and distort/swell up, causing vision through the visor to then be really badly distorted. This happens exactly the same on two Sparco visors I have. Once this has happened it takes a long time for the visor to dry out and return to normal vision. As an added bonus, when wet the inside of the visor also get's tacky, meaning if you try and dry the water off it just makes things even worse).
Some of the Bell race helmets (RS3 Pro, KF3, GT5 Pro, etc) come with a non-antifog clear visor as standard, with spare visors using a Bell dual layer visor system called DSAF where the main visor has a second visor internally, a bit like double glazing.
Does anyone here use a Bell race helmet with a double layer DSAF visor? If so, does it have an antifog costing still on the inside visor (I'm hoping not)? and how well does it work in practice, both in general use and in the wet?
btw - the DSAF visors are not used by all Bell race helmets and indeed I've heard of people of have scratched off the antifog coating from the inside of other Bell visors to prevent a similar problem.
