Fantastic day today but can does anyone know who the orange/white Fiesta with the PH smiley was? I was down at Vale and recognised it!

Always nice to see a PH smiley on the track (and not in the gravel hehe)!

I was there as well in one of the (many) Caterhams! Saw quite a few PH smileys on support vehicles around the paddock, interesting to see how many crawl out of the woodwork!

Yep good days racing, good to see all of my old Caterham racing mates again!

I do hope that you paid 45% of the entry fee (commensurate with the same %age of laps... in a quicker car than other team members... thus 'avoiding' the handicap system whistle )

(good job I wasn't a team manager this year... you would have been found out sooner!) biggrin

To be honest, if we knew how it worked it would have been very clever, but as it stands we were just amazed at how long the bloody thing went on a single tank!

But anyway, I bet Andy's just sore I managed half a second on him with 40psi in the tyres hehe

2 people drove the Mega, and 2 in separate supers. Actually the Mega only ran for about 25 minutes more than the supers

Although how you can lose when the handicap secretary is in your team is beyond me whistle

It may interest you to know that some teams had limits of time put on their faster cars. We, however, didn't

I'm reminded of something one Nick Frost said to me a few years ago

"There is no spirit of the rules, only the rules"

A team made up of two Clio Cup rockets and two BMW Mini challenge cars won, says it all about the handicap really!

Anyone got a link to any sites with some pictures from the weekend?

I was spannering for our team, and we were up there Friday and Saturday. Our first Birkett, and definitely not going to be our last!!!

In fairness they were pretty quick in the wet. One of them and an E36 BMW were the only things to come blasting past me like I was standing still and I wasn't hanging about compared to everything else

I was on incident at Vale out (oddly the entry to the chicane) and the Cup cars were careering past just about anything they came up against in the wet, their grip was increible!

Were you one of the guys on the right hand side between the exit to Stowe and the entry to the new complex?

I tried to wave a 'sorry' to you guys when I knew I was pushing my luck (and the circuit limits) on my exit to Stowe, although I assume by your gear you were recovery!

I was in the number 2A Caterham, black and ali with the flouro yellow cage, hopefully I gave you a bit of entertainment through the race, in the wet I was going round Stowe broadside on more than one occasion!

If you mean on the entrance to the chicane down to the gravel then yes, actually rather quiet for most of the day! hehe

It wasn't a strategy as such - just your turn next.......and the tank lasted. Show me a good loser, and i'll just show you a loser biggrin

I was quite pleased to be within a second of the quick Mega's best laptime in a Mega (not you Wookie - that would be 2 seconds). Having never turned a wheel in the car ever until the wet qualy session or indeed with a seat that I made out of old bits of tat 2 minutes before qualifying. Being quicker than front running Mega regulars was just a bonus. I'd say on balance we did well against the odds.
