I'm not sure if any other PH'ers were there at the weekend, but the outright lap record was broken twice at Cadwell Park over the weekend!!

On Saturday 21 year old Richard Mitcham from Boston beat the previous record of Nigel Reuben of 1:22.225 set in 2008 by posting a 1:21.905 in his Jedi Mk6 during the BRSCC Formula Jedi Championship race.

On Sunday he lowered it further with a 1:21.138 meaning that over the weekend he'd taken a full 1.1 seconds off the previous outright lap record!!

the superkart guys will be gutted, the superkart record is 1:22.28s and i think one or two fancied their chances at the old record but finding 1.1s will be tough!

Si, haven't you got anything to hand that you could wheel around Cadwell to beat that?

I thought I was doing well with a 1m33s in and ASCAR!!

The pic in Autosport was most impressive, tyre saving over the mountain - keep 'em all in the air!

to be honest, I have done very few laps round Cadwell, not really sure what any of mine would do (certainly better with somebody that knows the place well).

Steve Guglielmi managed 1:31.903 last month (time attack) on R888 road tyres, and from what I know of them compared to decent slicks, I would suggest another 2-3 sec's off that, but that's still a long way of 1:21.138.

realistically, I would suggest that the 250E Kart boys or maybe an F3 car would be all that could threaten that?

1.34 in the falcon in testing & 1.35 in the race & pretty much used the whole track width all of the time
1.22 is just insane cant be much quicker down the straights ?? but much higher cornering speeds & much later braking, my car was geared to 151 & was coming onto the limiter on park straight

The ASCAR's were geared for 178, running super sticky Hoosiers (black round toffees!!), and they weigh in at 1200Kg with driver. Colin White managed a low 1m33. Mine was a high 1m33. then it broke.
