Impact.

Eurosport Carbon $1095 plus shipping direct from the factory in Brownsburg Indiana.

Add $60 for HANS posts from KRJ Race Products in Brownsburg (he will drop them around to Impact F.O.C. and they will fit them)

Even if you get knobbled for the import VAT, which you shouldn't if they write the invoice correctly (Safety Equipment), it works out cheaper than anything you'll get in Europe with the exchange rate currently at about $1.50 to the £

That's £770 plus carriage.

UPS will cost about $140 (£93.33)

If you get hit for VAT, that's £134.75

Plus £10 (ish) for UPS doing the import paperwork for you.

Impact are the choice hat of probably more NASCAR, and IndyCar drivers.

Bill Simpson is back in charge, and he is MR Safety when it comes to motorsport after all.

my carbon helmet is USA made and FIA approved, not snell so im not sure that generalisation holds. its also a proper carbon helmet as are most of all the top ones (incl F1 helmets) so that they can be light weight. you want as light a helmet as you can afford is my logic. i want as little weight being added there in the event of an impact as i can get. the carbon you see is just because its been clear coated rather than painted, it is not a decal. the same helmet is also available in the regular white or black, same as with most brands.

edited as i cant be bothered...
WOW!!!!!!!

to the OP....
i looked at the stilo ST4F1 when i was buying a new helmet. i had been using the sparco F1 titan carbon ADV and while it had been a good helmet i felt it could have perhaps vented better for me. i dont drive open cockpit and it got hot at times even with a hose pointed right into it.
the stilo was my first choice as i liked the look and weight of it. i found i couldnt get a decent fit with it and ended up with a simpson though. thats purely down to head/face shape however so it may be like a glove on you. it was a quality helmet though. its also actual carbon fiber and not a decal wink

Yes, make sure you do. Set up by Bill Simpson, the man who brought seatbelts, and fire suits to motor racing.

There has been a load of grief in the last 12 months, but Bill is back at the helm after taking a back seat and handing off management to others (who are now all gone!).

Impact's brand name was damaged by all of the goings on, but is working very very hard to get it all back. I have Impact kit - top to toe, the suit is FIA, the hat is Snell, and unlike SFI - that's all independently tested, rather than "self certified".

Look at what drivers in NASCAR, Indycar, Drag Racing are wearing. It's Impact, Simpson, Bell, for helmets, with in probably that order for popularity.

Newly crowned Indycar champion Dario Franchitti wears Impact.

As an aside, Bell carbon lids are much much cheaper if you buy them in the 'States and have them shipped over personally.
