Tyre for sprints and trackdays
Discussion
Yoko A048s and Kumho V70As are available in different compounds - the V70s are pretty soft and you still might not get many trackdays out of even the harder compound they come in, but the Yokos are more durable in my experience.
My interests are very much at the soft and sticky end of the spectrum, though.

Mark,
You could do a lot worse than Toyo R888s. The BRSCC Porsche championship races on these (Boxsters & 924s - so 968 should be OK), using the middle of 3 available compounds. The race format is usually 15 mins qualifying and 2 20 min races, and you can generally get 4-5 meetings out of a set - sometimes more. They come up to temperature within 1 lap too. Once up to temp, they also provide good grip in the wet, although if there's a lot of standing water they're no better than any other tyre with minimal tread.

They were top of my list.
Cheers
