Well, the new GP circuit layout seems to have been well received by most, if the enthusiastic comments of the BBC presenters are anything to go by, but, unless I’m mistaken, the new infield section partly overlaps/interferes with Tower straight - the straight that is/was used in one direction as part of the International circuit and in the other direction for the South Circuit.

Does this mean that the International circuit (and the South Circuit) are no longer available?

The International Circuit was used for Touring Cars and, in recent times at least, for the Birkett 6 Hours as the season closer - it'd be a shame if it's gone frown

as i understand it yes the international is no more... but there it an extension available for the national and when the new pits are ready there will be racing on southern as well to replace the international..

The Birkett this year is on the GP circuit , old gp i think

From what I could see at the Gp they could still have an international circuit as the bit of track that links it from Becketts is still there, it'd just be a different shaped bit of track.

Probably find that all the run-offs/barriers and overlaps etc are for racing in one direction only – i.e. the new GP layout

Plus the old abbey link has bee re-profiled to suit

Agree.

But after having raced on teh Full GP (Historic) recently, I don't want to go back to anything slower! The wide open space rile.
