Race numbers /Test day

Not got blue book to hand, so forgive the elementary question..
Do we need to display race numbers on a test day.
Testing friday, and still finishing car ,may not have decals in time, so will i have to get a move on and number the car up or ok without ?

OK without for general testing, but will need on prior to scrutineering
