New Cadet Kart -GX160 or W60?
Discussion
Hi guys - looking for some advice again please?
My 9yr old has just finished his cadet course at Thruxton and now wants daddy to finance his glorious racing career - eek!
Been looking at karts, and majority seem to be either Comer W60 or Honda GX-160 powered. Appreciate the differences between the 2 stroke and the 4 stroke, and been told that lap times can be similar between the 2.
As a new starter, would the GX be the better start point? We are looking to join Forest Edge track and they run both engines, so once he's done his ARKS I assume he should be able to race with this engine.
The W60 needs to be sealed to race - does the GX160? - i can't seem to find this out for definite.
The W60 seems more popular - and more expensive to buy - is there any real reason at this sort of age/skill level?
Thanks
Matt
