Stinkysteve will have more up-to-date info than me, but when I last ran there were two races (AEFG and BCDH) - both of which were full to bursting, with some great racing to be had throughout the fields (I tried both, firstly in a 205 then in a Locoblade). I hear they may have amalgamated into one race only this year; it'll probably work out fine as there were always ridiculously fast cars in either race! Keep a goood eye on your mirrors if you are thinking of entering Class D
Entering this year for the first time in the Clio.
We're all lumped in together this year, which should make life.....interesting....
EDIT: At the moment there aren't that many registered competitors( see here ), but looking at previous years there have been around 50 competitors (although not everyone will do every race).

Hmm, I'm not too keen on the idea of entering a lower class to then spend 99% of the race getting out the way of others...
Its not that bad, unless you are really super slow, quiet often in the past the highest class cars are always the fastest, esp if it rains. Ive been in class D & have rarely been lappedEdited by andy rob on Tuesday 9th March 20:22

class D winning fiesta worth @ the most £6k but you can get a less competitve stock hatch for under £2k, running costs low for both, set of 13" tyres £250 & 2 sets would easily do 1 season, most other bits are probably cheaper than your daily run about car, however my class C P306 ex BTCC I want £14500 for, cost loads more to run but is a fair bit quicker
Most of the races were lumped together last year and it was fine. I'm in class D and as Andy said above, rarely got lapped. I know a couple of people who have entered and aren't on that list, so take it as a pinch of salt. I think its well out of date.
Its a great championship, really freindly and highly recommended.
Does anyone know whats happening with the 1st race, still no entry forms up yet?

Late to the party... Hi Frodo
Speed differentials can be huge when the grids are amalgamated. But what do you expect when you put a Lambo Gallardo Superleggera against a 110 bhp stock hatch fiesta?
The quality of driving last year was generally excellent. The fast cars respect the slower cars and vice versa, it's a very friendly championship and contact is very much avoided.
If you're in a slower car, you'll still be having a lot of fun racing the slower cars, and letting cars through well can give you a big advantage and overtaking opportunities over someone who backs off in the wrong place or is too polite.
I had one of the slowest cars our last year (not the red one), and i was lapped many times. However it didn't detract from the fun i had as i was always racing with someone.
I was initially skeptical, and quite frankly sh!tting it about being lapped at such speed and not holding people up. But, you must also remember that despite the classes, there is a huge disparity between the cars in each class because the classes are open. That means someone in class B (Say Impreza) could actually be racing against someone in a fast class D car (like Mr Robinsons bloody quick Fiesta).
It also means that teh racing is about having fun, as you're never going to beat someone in your class if they have a 320k car and you have a £4k car. It's about the fun. there'll always be someone with more money, so get out to enjoy it.
Class D is certainly where there's most competition. Last year there were 2 ex stock hatch cars racing in class D (upto 1600cc) that were £1500-£2000 cars. No one ever objected to the slow pace of these, indeed there was nothing but encouragement by all.
At the front of class D there's people putting in 1600 zetecs costing £4-5k and running around 200 bhp. And a few crazy vetecs running this year. It'll be a fascinating battle, but that will be right throughout the field.
I'm sure a lot of people haven't signed up yet, but there'll be there. A lot of people are struggling with the first race being a month earlier than usual, so concentrating on getting their cars built rather than applications and entries for a race they may not make.

Yep - site is still out of date as I put my entry through a couple of weeks back but rather ominously I'm not on the list yet! Still - I'm sue it will be brought up to speed over the next few weeks
General perception from last year was that the racing was fair as everyone is in the smae boat - ie trying to enjoy the racing rather than the repair bills.
First year racing for me this year - sharing the car so entering six or seven of the double header weekends. Still massively fettling the car to stop bits falling off it!

Not sure if i can make the first race, it's looking increasingly unlikely. I've got to go to Australia for a couple of weeks soon and i don't have an engine yet. (the cars in bits too)
I'll be taking it easy this year, i can't handle the pressure. i'm sure you know what i'm talking about. I could tell you another story that'd make you laugh too - Just when i didn't need any more female hassle, i now have a stalker (a properly psychotic one too) that the police are dealing with. Racing is low on the priority list for now i'm afraid....

Entry list looks a bit healthier now.
Quick question - on the entry for for April 17/18th it's got a box for my BARC membership number - being in a DDMC championship I assume I can leave it blank can I?
Yep, leave it blank. Last season i wasn't ever asked for my DDMC membership number. Lesley will see you right, don't worry about it.Quick question - on the entry for for April 17/18th it's got a box for my BARC membership number - being in a DDMC championship I assume I can leave it blank can I?
