I mean specifically toilet and shower blocks that are open overnight.
I've been thinking of getting a little caravan and stripping it out so it's more like a tiny bedsit. Ripping the toilet out will give me more space. I'll only be using it for race weekends. Surely every track has facilities for people that want to camp there?

Every circuit I've been to has somewhere to camp, although some places (Rockingham!) are a little more 'rustic' than others (MSVR get a big thumbs up from me).

So far thats Croft, Mallory, Cadwell, Brands, Anglesey, Rockingham, Silverstone, Lydden...

As a competitor or as a Marshal or as a spectator?

They all do, to a greater or lesser extent. Rockingham has very limited grass for a tent.

Llandow doesn't but there is a camp site less than half a mile away.

Track and campsite owned by the same people/person I believe.
Llandow isn't a race track as such any more though? Track days/testing and Sprints afik.

I have camped at Brands Hatch at the Truck Superprix (31 October - 1 November. Wasnt my best idea hehe) and the campsite was brill! Close to the track and huuuuge.

Oulton Park has good camping and during club meets you can usually camp right next to the paddock. Bigger meetings it is at Lodge or the 40 Acre field nr Cascades smile

Absolutely right.

Knockhill

As of last year no spectator camping.

For marshals, as far as I am aware, only camping for multi day events such as BTCC and British GT.

Will find out if there are any changes at the marshals training day in March.

Sorry, I wasn't clear, I meant as a competitor. Looks pretty good though!

crofty, unless your caravan is awful small i would be very reluctant to remove the loo compartment totally, if nothing else leave the thetford casette/porta potti in there as it is lot easier to have a leak in the van during the night as opposed to trudging to a loo block. That is one thing I dont miss about tent camping

In either case, I dont recall seeing a shower block? Although the toilet blocks have notably improved in recent years.

For drivers it shouldn't be a problem at most places, especially with a caravan and I am sure that unless you are a hermit you will be able to strike up enough friendship with others that the offer to use the shower in their motor home/van will not be long in coming at the tracks where finding an unlocked one at 7pm on Saturday night isn't easy!

If you do remove the loo i would invest in a small washing up bowl from the local poundy. The olds have a motor home but in the interests of not having to empty the cassette, etc the loo is reserved for Delhi belly emergencies where use of the blue bowl would not be appropriate and runing to the nearest trap is not an option!
