Enthusiast needed
Discussion
We are looking for a keen enthusiast to join our small team in the Worcester area.
We will be racing a Lotus Elan in Class 'B' of the Thoroughbred Sportscars Championship this year.
We work usually 1 evening a week on the car and then go to the races over the season.
I'm afraid there is no money available. This would probably suit someone who already goes Motor Racing to spectate as a hobby who would like to be a little more involved. Mechanical knowledge would be desirable but is no means a requirement.
More important is someone who is friendly and enthusiastic and loves our sport.
All interest is appreciated.

If you can let me know where you'll be and when (or linky to race calendar), I may be able to pop along and support you however I can. I'm a shutter bug, not a grease monkey, but happy to help however, when I can. I'm from the North Notts area.
Cheers

Kybo, Lewis, Crofty, many thanks for your interest.
If you go to www.thoroughbredsportscars.net and click on 'calendar & entry forms' you can see the events for the year and the site also contaiins all the other details of the Championship.
Obviously I'm looking for someone in the area because of loading / unloading etc., and maintenance between the events. We like to do all the prep before we get to the races, then we can all enjoy the race day / weekend with just the routine spanner checking etc., to carry out.
Having said that it would still be nice to see people who want to get involved in the sport more.
By the way, my main mechanic / help has been with me for around 10 years now, and travels from South Wales each week to help!

'tis funny isn't it, at certain times of the year we are over run with students and the like who "desperately" want to get into motorsport, yet a fantastic offer like this comes along and there are no keen students to be seen!
Too many folks looking for money and/or fun without giving the commitment in exchange IMV and I'm allowed to say that I've marshalled 30 days a year for 12 years

Its a shame isn't it 'PIGLET'.
Outside of motorsport I've done a myriad of voluntary work for over 20 years. You're either that way inclined or you're not.
Many thanks for marshalling by the way. I've needed you a few times when things have gone slightly wonky. In fact I've needed you every time I've ventured out onto the track, because without you we couldn't race.
As it happens a local lad wants to help with the car, which is just perfect really. So the place is now filled.
Thanks for all of you that showed interest.
Any of you who want to say hello, I will be competing throughout the year in the Thoroughbreds'. Car no. 30.
