Good to see them spreading biggrin. I was involved in the planning of the first one in the UK and competed on it as well (at Aust services on the M4 by the old Severn bridge), back before the MSA even had a discipline called "autosolo" and had to create a special permit so we could run the event.

Nowadays we have a thriving championship locally based around the Cotswolds, our club's first one of the year is at the end of Feb.

It's my club that's running it, there's a few up here that do them, Bolton, Knutsford and CSMA, but must confess I'm more a rally bod myself.

I could never follow the routes on autotests.

Weren't they invented in the States?

Autosolos are like autotests but without the backwards part, right? Kind of like a mini sprint?

Yes, but also considerably more open so 2nd gear is needed at some events and there's no need to use the handbrake or do three point turns on tight bits.

Think the idea is also to use a car driven to the event and when you are not doing you do a bit of marshalling too.

I would have had a go at the one at Abingdon CARnival but it was on at the same time as the Sprint I was competing in. I assume they're not exclusively for 14-16 year olds?
