No, you don't have to have your medical done before the test.
When I did mine I was the only person taking it that day who had had it done.

Thanks - not very clear to me whether you need to just complete the form or actually have the medical stamped, but sounds like you guys have been OK. I'll try to get a medical sorted tomorrow, or maybe phone them up to find out for sure in advance.

Cheers

IIRC you can do the test and pass, but they'll not sign it untill its got the medical stamp. Thats what happened back when i took mine...

but they'll usually record a pass and when you take it back with the medical filled in they'll sign it.

failing that there are a few harley steet docs in the back of the blue book ( available online) that'll usually do it at short notice $$$$'s though

Tom,

You don't have to have the medical before your ARDS test, but it is always advisable. You should have given me a shout, I do ARDS tests up at Teesside & have a doctor on site to do the medical at a reduced rate. Just let me know if I can be of help. Where have you booked your test????

Best regards, Howard

I had mine done at the track on the same day as my ards test at Bedford on the 23rd. There were 6 or 7 people all doing the same thing. It was arranged in advance by Alex at MSV ,cost about £50 and is pretty straight forward. Pity my local GP didn't have a clue as to what to do!

Cheers H - I booked it at Snetterton as that's one of the circuits I'll be doing with PBMW. Managed to get a medical sorted in the end anyway, but I phoned MSV first and they said the same as you - the medical can be done later.

See you around,

....... just the question I was going to ask! Well Tom, did you or didn't you?? We don't want any "lawyer" type answers, just a plain or simple "yes" or "no"!!

Only one, which I thought was utter genius:

"Contact between competing cars is:

a) To be expected, this is racing after all
b) Good entertainment for the crowds
c) Absolutely to be avoided - motor racing is a non contact sport
d) Forbidden in single seaters but acceptable in saloon racing"

Or something along those lines. You get the idea. Learn the flags, watch the DVD a couple of times, and you should be fine.

HTH, good luck.

Bit of both really!

Yes, I`ve been looking for dates to do my test, and lost use of smilies for some reason. Good to see them back now hehe
