Buying racing kit for karting - where?

Starting to look at buying my son the gear he needs for karting - race suit, helmet, boots etc, but can't find a shop where I go and try this stuff on and see whats best. I don't really want to buy from ebay without knowing what sizes are best, etc.

might be a bit of a trek but could try dartford karting (http://www.kartstore.co.uk/) and if your over that way the karting shop at buckmore park.

It's been a while since i've been to either so it might be worth calling to check what stock they have.
