Cars for sale?

Chaps,

I recently sold my Locoblade due to work commitments this year - which have now gone away! So I'm looking to pick up something el cheapo to race for half of this year then either sell on or bung in the garage... Ideally a tintop (XR2 or similar - don't fancy a 205 as I've raced one already), less than £2k ideally but could spend a smidge more if required. Must be race ready or minor work only!

I've gone through everything on here, RacecarsDirect, MotorsportAds, FastRoadAndTrack and RacedandRallied. I've seen one on the 750MC forum (emailed already) and one on the Phil Law Stock Hatch forum - I don't have an account over there so if anyone can point him in this direction I'd be delighted!

Does anyone know of anything going? The more obscure the better, I race in a very open series To give you an idea, I've just been looking at an Alfa 155 hillclimber on eBay but it sold before I could go and look.

BTW, it's your fault I'm starting racing this season. After I saw your ad for the 205 I started researching northern saloons, and then found north-west saloons and that's what I'm doing!!

A bit left-field but looks like a potential bargain

I've got a stock hatch 205 gti I should get round to selling.

It's not been run for a couple of years due to other commitments.

Spec is

1991 205 1.6 GTI in black & orange (pic in profile)
Leda -ve camber adjustable front shocks with Faulkner springs.
Avo adjustable rear shocks.
Cobra Evolution seat
3' harnesses (I think they run out end of 2010 from memory)
OMP 6 point car with door bars
Goodrich hoses
light weight battery
Fire extinguisher

I raced it in a local series a couple of years ago.

only bad points are

Paintworks not great
The rainlight will need replacing as the one is pre needing to be FIA approved.
It has been sat for the best part of 2 years so may need to have a quick look at the brakes.

I'd accept £1500 if your interested.

Thanks for all the replies so far chaps - andye30m3, thanks for your offer and it looks a nice car but I've decided against a 205 as I have raced one before. The two Rovers look very interesting; unfortunately the first one has sold already but if someone (andy rob?) could point the owner of the yellow one towards this thread I would be much obliged!
