I've had a GP5 Arai for about six months and just getting it painted the FIA sticker on the back isn't straight i know that once it's pulled off he won't be able to put it back on, is it needed on for racing in the uk has the snell sticker inside.

Thanks

Just have another one put on when you have it checked at your next race as far as I know.

Is it the rectangular silver one JP? If so that is for HANS post, cost £90 and has to go to Holland to be re-done! Not sure if you need it in the UK, but would just leave it on!

Even if its the other one, it'll leave "void" underneath which would arouse suspicion if you try to get another one put one. Although I guess you could paint over that.

They used to sell them for a couple of quid at scruitineering a few years ago.

That'll be the MSA sticker applied after first scrutineering, not an FIA sticker. Try racing abroad without the latter.

As an aside, I had some issues at Spa last year - I have an Arai GP5 which I bought in 2003 when HANS posts were not generally available pre-fitted. In those days you had the HANS posts fitted by an authorised outlet who applied a sticker to the inside of the helmet. Its still there, all present and correct, but caused some consternation with the Belgian / Dutch scrutes, who wanted to see a factory sticker on the outside of the helmet.
