Hello!
I'm thinking of returning to the racing fold in 2011 (or the back end of 2010 if I can finish the car in time) The Production BMW championship looks very appealing. I'm also aware that they can run in the TTRS series as well. Are there any others that it can run in? future classics, etc?

Excuse my ignorance of BMWs but is the E30 a 2.5 litre engine? If so it will be eligible for the CSCC "Future Classics" series of 40 minute mini-enduro races. If it is a 2 litre it will be eligible for both CSCC "Tin Tops" and "Future Classics".

Hope that helps

Andy

If you live up North. The Northern saloon & sports car championship, It's run by the Darlington & Distric motor club based at Croft & run rounds at Knockhill, Cadwell park, Oulton park, Anglesey, Mallory pk & Donington pk in the past. There is a real clubie atmosphere in the pit's aswell if you ever have a problem

Some E30's had a 2.5l engine, but the PBMW ones are either the 1.8 4-cyl 8v (16v is banned) or the 6cyl 2 litre. I'll probably try to get the 1.8

In that case < 2 litres cars with 2 valves per cylinder would be CSCC "Tin Tops" Class B cars and they will also be eligible for "Futue Classics" Class C and would be very competitive in either series.

Remember that at the end of each day, CSCC also runs a Sports Vs Saloon Challenge race and if you have already entered one of the other races in the dy then you get this entry for about £90 (2009 rates). Lots of track time for your money!

We have an E30 325 which has gone through various stages. This year we aimed at getting a few races in. After mulling over TTRS and Future Classics. We opted for Future Classics after visiting a few races of both. A minor set back at Cadwell saw us out after 3 laps. Last weekend we did alright at Snetterton. We are going to do next season with the CSCC in FC.

The (long) story of our build is here: http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?s=1129c7e78d4...

More than happy to have a chat about what we would have done differently and where we went right. Drop me a mail if you want.
