Does anyone have a full set of regs or know where I can some from for next season for tin tops?

Just want to know what is or isn't allowed in the up to 1600 cc dual valve class.

Cheers!!

The full regs for CSCC Tin Tops can be found here: http://www.classicsportscarclub.co.uk/Forms/2009%2...
(scroll down below the registration form). That's it, that's all the regs there are. So same engine type, same induction system as originally in production, same body shape and size (no wheel arch extensions etc); no sequential gearboxes, no turbos and no spaceframes.

Ask any questions you want.

as for the induction on cars I saw a car with throttle bodies in the class I want to run in that never had them as a road going car.

Is this right or are they allowed?

Is it if it has carb or carbs you can say run Bike Carbs?

Throttle Bodies are allowed on cars that had injection as originally fitted. Bike carbs are allowed (I think) but best to check with the office!

I've just become aware of TinTops.

Would an MG ZR190 be eligible? (As in the class A cars that race in the MGCC MG Trophy).

I don't have a ZR as yet, but my brother and I are weighing it up.....

I am sure that one has run in Tin Tops before, in fact a couple of people have run in them and even been race winners, I think.

I have suggested allowing such cars in to "Future Classics" rather than "Tin Tops" as I think we want to keep TT to 2 litres for the moment, however, I have not yet succeeded as the Vento and Vectra are both post 1990 cars, and 1990 is supposed to be the cut off for FC. I would love to see such cars race with us somewhere, though. My advice is to get in touch with the CSCC office and ask if its possible to race such cars somewhere within the clubs series; ask them to consider altering regs to allow such cars to be eligible. If you have any idea of the number of such cars that might join in then that would help.

Do you have such a car to race?

Hope that helps.

Andy,

The CSCC allow a Gen 3 twin turbo RX7 into Future Classics, which is Post 1990, so I think the rules are more flexible than that.

Tin Tops are racing on saturday, as are the "Magnificent Sevens". Future Classics and Swinging Sixties are on sunday.

I have spoken to the CSCC "Future Classics" Co-ordinator about this and it may be that VW Vento VR6 & Vauxhall Vectra SRi V6 cars will be allowed to enter Future Classics on an invitational basis (CSCC Series are not championships so this should not matter as there is no pot to fight for!). The series normally restricts entries to cars that are pre 1990 but will allow certain cars to run in an invitation class.

If you want to run a car such as a Vento or a Vectra in Future Classics then your best bet is to contact the club and ask to be allowed to enter the Future Classics invitation class. I think thats how the Rover Tomcat gets in.

Hope that helps

Andy97......I have been looking recently at the Swinging Sixties for my MG Midget. I have seen the entry forms with some regs. on page 2, is that all there is to the regs or is there a full set available somewhere? It looks great to have 2 drivers in a 40 minute race but I am not sure that my car will qualify for an entry.

Mr Jenks, The regs that you have sen are all there is to it! The club believes in being as inclusive as possible within certain limitations (standard size and shape body panels, original type engine and induction system for eg). I'm fairly sure that we have had Spridget's race in Swinging Sixties before, so it should be eligible. Cars are allowed to race in Swinging Sixties if the type was being built in the 1960s, even if the particular car was built in, say, 1973 (or is even a heritage shell). Hope that helps.

Very helpful, thanks.
I must admit that it looks more interesting everytime I think about it. I guess then that I continue my building project towards MGCC class C spec and then enter Swinging Sixties events alongside.
Baldrick, I have a cunning plan!

The CSCC will now allow a Vento VR6 into Future Classics on the same basis as they do the Rover Tomcat & Fiat Coupe (ie later than 1990 cars, but in the spirit of). Not sure about a Vectra V6 but probably worth asking the qwuestion again.

Future Clssics has become very popular this year with full grids everywhere & reerves at some places.

Tin Tops has also seen big grids with 35 at Snetterton & we have 20 out at Anglesey next weekend (traditionally one of our weaker venues).

The Vectra V6 is eligible for Future Classics

The Vento would be ideal for the new for 2011 CSCC "Deutsche Marque" series for post 1990 German cars, whilst the Vectra (badged as an Opel!) would also be eligible.
