Hi
I'm going to get my car scrutineered for the first time this weekend and have already contacted the guy who is doing it. I'm racing in sprint and hilclimb and will be in sports libre class (classic mini with a redtop in) The car is not road legal and has been built from a shell that has no identity.

The guy doing the log book has said to bring its chassis number with it on the car. I don't have one and have said this to the dude. Surly if it not road legal and has been built from a non identifiable shell it shouldn't matter?

He said i can even make one up myself but it has to be on a stamped plate, bit too late to get one made up now!

Has anyone got any advise?

The log book has a space for chassis number so the scrute just needs something to put in the space. Machine Mart do sets of punches that you could use on a bit of alli and rivet to the shell somewhere. Only the number needs to be stamped. If it's Gurston you're running at I can bring mine down if that helps.

Make one.
All you need is a series of letters & numbers ie your initials + 012009 or something like that.
Get a set of punch stamps or a marker thing (dremel?) & scratch/punch a bit of tin or alley (if you have neither make beans on toast & cut a rectangle out of the tin).
Glue/mastic or rivet it to the chassis.
