Hello all.

I am having trouble locating some material long enough to fit round the Lova bodywork. I have been searching for clear acrylic sheets, but I need a length of 2000mm. Height probably 250mm. I am unsure what thickness to use, 3mm maybe. The other question is to if it bends tight enough to follow the monoposto body.

Can anyone suggest whats best?

Should be able to get perspex in 8ft sheets I think? Perhaps polycarbonate would be more durable though.

The MSA mandates a minimum of 4mm thickness for polycarbonate to replace glass in side windows.

Interesting, as this covers both sides. 4mm is quite thick, I expected 2mm, but my little DKW-1000 2-stoke might struggle carrying this lump of material on its upper point. (bar my sweed of course).

I wonder whether the 4mm would apply as you are not replacing stock glass (as in a tin top)?

must use polycarbonate, perspex (ordinary acrylic sheet) will shatter and splinter easily). for polycarbonate, look for Lexan or Macrolon its two most common trade names. it will thermo form, but has a narrow 'window' ('scuse the pun..) of forming temp, too high and it blisters easily.
soemone like Airedale plastics will be able to advise (they make window kits for rally and race cars).
