Discussion
Hey Blib,
I wasn't aware beforehand, but my business partner was servicing at Longcross for the fat bloke driving this car:
Kevin was somewhat taken with the idea of rallying a Strato's and if he wasn't skint at the moment I reckon he'd have one!!
He also said that someone with the Strato's had a 'GTM' t-shirt...... who dat den??

Ferg.
Yes, they were set up right opposite us. The cap with the GTM tee was a fellow competitor. The story goes thus......
On stage two, the Strat had a fuel tank breather problem which caused fumes to enter the car's passenger compartment. This caused considerable discomfort to the co-driver, so much so that he was seriously physically sick, obliging Dave to pull out of the stage for a 'maximum'.
The GTM had retired after stage one and Dave's co-driver asked theirs to take his place. She agreed and the rally organisers allowed Dave to continue, albeit, he was excluded from the results.
We moved the breather and the problem was solved. The car was running top ten times by the last stages. Not too bad as Dave hadn't driven the car with its new 24v engine before.
Very encouraging.
