I'm thinking about doing some sprinting in the standard production car class, found a local club but have a quick quesion with regards to the regs in the blue book.

It states that all cars need to have an ignition cut off switch operable by the driver when normally seated, is the standard ignition key switch sufficent or do I need to add a second cut off switch?

also weres the best place to get timing struts from?

and I'm also assuming that a national B race license is ok if the regs only require a national B non-race license.

Thanks

Andy

Ignition Switch is fine. I have a sticky label above mine showing where it is & which way is "OFF".

Timing strut - make your own. An off cut of ally sprayed black on a bracket.

Which championship & class?

Cheers for the reply, thought I was going to have to mess about putting another switch in

Looking at TWMC all circuit sprint championship in the standard production cars class, There a class for up to 2l which I'm hoping a clio 172 should be competitive in.

If nothing else it will prove to be a chance to try a few more venues such as goodwood.

Im thinking of the BARC series. Its more westerly than yours. I talked to a few guys running the 172s at Goodwood last year, they were having a good time. Almost convinsed the wife to try hers. A great car though.
Good luck.

Hi Andy,

I've competed in the TWMC All Circuit championship for the last couple of years, good fun and the two lap event at Goodwood is a must-do.

Good luck,

Chris

Thanks again for the replies

I've just waved goodbye to my M3 evo and pick the clio up tonight, sent off my race license renewal form today so hopefully will be back in time for the first round at lydden.

Chris, I seem to remember the mini in your profile from when I raced my 205 in the semsec events.

Shame, that was a lovely looking M3.

Yes, we've focused on the All Circuit the last two years but are switching back to racing with SEMSEC for this year, nice to have a lie in whilst you lot are cleaning up the track for us!

By the way, do you want our place on the 21st March track/test day at Lydden, our car is not going to be out in time?

I'll see you down there smile Black RX-7 in Production Modified.

Regs are out for Goodwood 25th April, and Lyddens on 4th April and 9th May.

There is usually a 172 Cup down at Lydden, saw him a lot last year.

Hi Stew, I'd say you were pretty well placed, try the following sites:

I did look at the 172 cup but the one I looked at was a dog.
