See other posts, no specific examples but its all straight forward stuff and I did no revision for it. Couple of questions have an answer where more than one IMO can be correct but apart from that all multiple choice. I got one wrong, however, FLAGS are the most important thing. You need to know them inside out upside down. I could be wrong, but you need to get every flag right.

One that I remember "You drop your helmet on the floor - what do you do?"

a) dont worry and wear it again
b) cover it in tape and wear it again
c) sell it to another competitor
d) dispose of it and get another one

Hmmmm....... the questions are nothing to worry about at all, common sense really - knowing the difference between understeer and oversteer, what line to take if the track is wet, that sort of thing. Its all contained in the dvd that comes with the pack, so do watch that a couple of times. But yes, make sure you know ALL your flags, you have to get 100% on these. Good luck!

Oh, and if you get a question like "Which flag is used to start a race following starting-light failure?", remember it's the National Flag and not the Union Flag (Union Jack).

One that got me was "how often should you look in your mirrors when racing?" the answers were "as often as you can", "only on the straights" and "a few times a lap"...

I can't remember I'm afraid. To be honest it's a bit of a daft question, as it depends if you know someone's behind you or not. Plus, in a lot of single seaters, when you turn into a corner one eye looks right at the mirror and the other at the apex, so you kinda can't fail to look in the mirrors!

The national flag / union jack thing is just utterly ridiculous. What matters is not what it's called, but what the driver is looking for, regardless of what they personally call it!!

hehe I did my ARDS in November 2000, but that too was the only one I got wrong and it annoyed me, so I still remember!

I don't remember actually biggrin However, I've been racing since 2001 and I can tell you - look in the mirror when you think it's necessary and if it won't distract from your driving, or if a blue flag is waved at you. That's the right answer, and it's none of those choices!!

When I saw that question I thought the answer would be ‘all the above’ but thinking about it the answer would be ‘on the straight’. Once into a corner you are committed and are unlikely to be able to anything about what you see in the mirror anyway. If you had looked in the mirror on previous straight you will be aware of what’s happening around you without having to take your eyes off the road in the corner.

£250 - £285 thereabouts + the cost of "the Go Racing" pack which is around £50

Took my ARDS on Friday. I was worried about the multi choice questions. The flags I knew I was going to be tested on.

We watched a video before the test that explained all the flags. The question sheet also had the flags on the front for referance.

The multichoice questions are simple. Do not worry about them. If you dont pass you should still have stabalisers on your first bike.

The track bit was simple. The instructor drives you around for a couple of laps 1st. All you have to do is be consistent & follow his speed & lines, which is not as fast as you drive on your first track day.

If anybody has done any track time/days & knows the flags they will pass without revising, watching the video & dont worry.

Plus £51 when you actually send off for your licence
