Does anyone here compete in the above championship?
I'd like to know more about the series from a competitors point of view!
Thanks.

The series has been running since the early eighties, and I sponsored it for three years, I think it was '87, '88 & 1989, when it was an extremely popular series. I think the grids shrank a little in the early nineties (recession) & then regained popularity over the past few years. Because of the various class structures, it provides a series for virtually anything on four wheels, and some of the drivers are still competing as they were in the eighties. The advantage also, is that is is Northern based, .... Oulton Park, Anglesey etc so reducing travelling for local people, but still provides some variation. I'm sure someone who is currently competing in it will be along soon to give you some in depth info. HTH

I took pictures for the BARC at all the Oulton rounds of the championship and I can say the atmosphere in the paddock is awesome. Everyone is so friendly and gets on with each other really well. ALso, they repect each other so there is no dirty tactics used!! Retrowheels is your man on PH. He races a big purple Tuscan in the series biggrin

Echoing what's allready been written by Matt and ginettajoe, i find this a really friendly series.

We've raced with them in '07 and '08 and had a great time.

The mix of cars makes for some really good racing, even the paddocks are interesting if you are into your Retro cars.

As said, some of the chaps have been competing for years , and know how to pilot a car, the racing is close and competive, but racing room is given and the standard of driving excellent in my experience.

Really good series all in all, and we're registered for this coming season , can't wait TBH.

I've competed on & off in Ace Vehicles (as I will always know it, just 'cos it stuck) since 1998. Brilliant series, friendly people, I've always had a great time, even when the car broke down (frequently), or the driver ran out of talent (more frequently, if that's possible).

Hope to be out again this year, although irritatingly I'm already going to miss the 1st race due to paperwork & work issues. Hmph.

Look out for a black & yellow Capri, if you ever see the races. There'll be 2 - a really mad one with a big wing (that's Dad's), and my more normal looking one... which will be near the back of the field somewhere.
