did anyone catch Tony Dron's idea of a boxing day historic/classic race day at Brands? sounded like a good idea for a string of non-championship races for the usual suspects. it would make the gap from October to March seem shorter thats for sure!

Was that his column in Octane? Great idea. Only problem from my point of view is that I live in Leeds - long way to Kent! I've never attended the Plum Pudding races, which is an anomaly.

I attend about 20 meetings a year but don't compete myself. Good luck to those of you who do!

yes, it was sowing a seed, subtle it was not but it raised a good point. there is absolutely no reason why it could not go ahead and would probably get some good grids and reasonable attendances as people are itching for something to do and have family in attendance...

Mallory already have a plum pudding meeting on boxing day it turns out to be the cheapest entry of the season £100 for two 15 minute races.

As Brands has the Spuerprix and Masters Festival already, it might be saturation, I don't know. I certainly think a couple of touring car races, a couple of single seater race and a couple for sportscars would be amazing. Imagine -

50s Touring
60s Touring
FJunior
Formula Libre open to any F1, F2, F5000 or Indycar from pre-1978
50s Sports and GT
60s Sports and GT to Group 4, Group 7 and FIA GT regs

I might be tempted to travel the 250 miles to Brands for that...
