British hillclimb championship 09
Discussion
I thought that Graeme was going to be trying out a prototype electric car type thingy:

Should make things interesting if it works!

I didn't see the Wright this year, I only got to one meeting at Loton and he wasn't there. Scott is running well, but you can't count Martin Groves out either...
He was there for at least one meeting (the September meeting). having that V10 flying past you at Post 9 at the finish line with only a tree for protection 5ft from the track side is not something to forgetThen again... you dont forget many of them screaming past at 100+mph when this is your view.

i think it would be easier to say which i'm not What events are you doing next year MR.Summerise?
Speed events you'll find me either at Harewood or Loton Park and normally at Aintree for the 3 sprints the Liverpool Motor Club hold. My problem is that several times Loton and Harewood dates clash, so thats normally a case of tossing a coin to decide which meeting to do.
Races, i tend to do Oulton Park, and occasionally Anglesey and the odd meeting further afield like the 2CV at Snetterton, or Britcar 24hr at Silverstone
well if you see a bloke as in the above photo - with long hair and a beard to match, wearing that white 'sex wax' hat, come and say 'ello' and i'll be glad to put a face to a name.
theres usually a good contingent of hillclimb marshals who make the trip up to Doune for the last championship meeting of the year.

I heard that the GWJ electic car won't be ready for the season so the Predator and Raptor will be out with maybe some runs of the electric car.
On a totally self centred note we'll be out in the new (to us) MP87 probably contesting the Midland Hillclimb Championship as well as a few others as we'll be following a certain MP96 which belongs to the in-laws....
Anyone going to test at Loton on the 29th March?

I'm deciding weither to marshal the 2 days at loton or the single day at harewood that weekend.I think depends on the weather close to the time as to what we do... dont fancy camping if the weather is like it was last year with the snow.

Although im very local ive never bothered doing the test days as the hill has been as slippy as hell due to the winter moss/tree slime covering, but now they are using the magical weedcontrol spraystuff the grips much much better and makes it worthwhile. if the cars ready i may well do one of the days. lets hope its dry...lord summerisle said:

summate like that. Are you coming to Harewood for training day?
its my usual position at Post 8 at Loton. i stand facing the finish line incase something happens that way, and Caz looks over my head from the shed step, at whats going on behind me. Excellent view from there down to Post 7 (fallow) to my right, then turn to catch the car passing behind me.
If you face the other way, you end up going dizzy as the cars come from your left, then exit over your right shoulder, and you end up turning in circles following them, then carry on turning to catch the next car.
And yeah, will be at harewood for training day
Fingers crossed for nicer weather this year... fed up of a glorious feb, then get to harewood in the blizzards and gale force winds!
