List 1a tyres in south west hillclimbs?
Discussion
Anyone know what the final verdict is for next year. Are list 1b tyres, 888's etc, going to be allowed on Road going classes or do I have to throw mine away? Nobody seemed to know for sure at the end of the season and the new blue book still says list 1a, but I think it said that last year too?
Unless things have changed in the last few days then there will be no rule changes to the ASWMC speed event championships in 2009. Certainly none were proposed or voted on at the AGM (I was there), I just confirmed this in the minutes of that meeting and none have been circulated to clubs since (I'm my club's delegate so get all ASWMC club correspondence).
The 2009 Blue book apparently contains a massive howler in I.68 (it has the 2010 wording as mandatory for 2009 rather than recommended) and corrections have been frantically circulated to championship organisers etc.
Plans are afoot to allow 1b in 2010 and onwards via a change to I.79. I think this will appear in the next Motorsports Now, it's due in front of MSC any day now (if not already) having already been through S&HSC and SEC.

Just read Motorsport Now. Full page giant size 'IMPORTANT NOTICE' about I.68. Had to laugh at the sheer size of it though!Gassing Station | UK Club Motorsport | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
