Now, now, we've all had a drink.
But seriously folks, I am looking for a sportscar for hillclimbing and sprinting next year. I am currently considering a club/prosport Radical or a Mallock. One of my problems is my less than built for speed frame. I am 6'4" tall and 17 Stone, I reckon I could squeeze into the Radical, any opinions as to whether the Mallock would be suitably capacious? Are the different Mk's particularly different in this regard?
Any advice gratefully received.

A Mallock would be miles cheaper, possibly quicker, and you'd certainly fit in a Mk27 or later, which I always thought were a bit bigger than the earlier ones. However, the usual limiting factor is the fibreglass transmission cover, which you can mod., or the shoulder space with roll bar bracing etc. I raced them for 12 years, everything from Mk11 to 32, and they're brilliantly simple bits of kit, incredibly quick, easy to work on, and if you get stuck, you phone Dick or Sue Mallock and have a chat. Also, once you own one you've suddenly gained a load of mates who also own them.
If the Mallock avenue seems attractive, then Classic Clubmans is probably best with the older cars being far cheaper than the ones in the Rover powered Clubmans Cup. Contact the Clubmans Register, Mallock Club, or Mallock Racing themselves; you'll find Richard and Sue Mallock very helpful, as I always did.
We are currently on our 3rd Mallock. They are great cars and the Clubmans lot are great guys, especially the Mallocks themselves.
But...I don't think you'll fit one. My Dad only fits ours length ways, he is 6ft2 ish and is fairly broad in the hip and shoulder, he finishes a race weekend with bruises on the arms from the rollover bar pinning is arms into place. I am slightly taller and broader than Dad and heavier, I am 20 stone, I can't fit in ours because my hips are too broad. I did the Classic Clubmans trackday at Mallory and I was too big for both cars I tried. Richard has always promised to modify our car to make it fit Dad better. Ray is a big guy and fits into his Mk8.

Marcus Bicknell races a mallock in the K-Series championship and I recall him being pretty tall, taller than me, I think, & I am 6 ft. Perhaps you should ring up the Mallock factory, expalinyour issue and ask if you can go along to try and sit in one or two - I think their factory is in Northampton.

shouldnt be a problem.these are some of the current top speed hillclimb drivers in the country
the Bloke on the left being 3 times British Hillclimb Champion, Martin Groves.
I always find it funny that its the largest blokes who go on about shaving weight from the car with the latest wiget... yet eat all the left over pies from the butty van.

from left to right
Martin Groves, Junior, Basil Pitt, Pauk Haimes (i think), Chris Merrick (whoes car had broken that weekend, so had travelled over and marshalled instead) and Jos Goodyear (i think)
TBH - i dont tend to recognise them outside of their cars without their helmets on
