Big Names at the Walter Hayes Trophy this weekend......
Discussion
The eighth running of the Walter Hayes Trophy will take place at Silverstone this weekend. The entry current stands at over 130 formula fords, and more are expected.
Several big names are competing, notably Seat BTCC driver Darren Turner in a Van Diemen RF90 and Le Mans racer (and Nurburgring lap record holder) Michael Vergers in a Van Diemen RF92. Embassy racing's Joey Foster (who has been competing in the le mans series this year in LMP2) will be back in the Seshon racing Van Diemen RF78, and Le Mans winner Andy Wallace will also take part in a 70s Crossle (who could string a few few surprises against the newer machinery).
The action will be spread across both Saturday and Sunday, with qualifying and heat races taking place on Saturday, with the semis, last chances and grand final taking place on Sunday.
