best lightweight 15" wheels
Discussion
We're distributors for Wolfrace's range of motorsport wheels and do a couple of bits that would work well on an E30. We do a nice looking 'pro lite' multispoke 15 rim. Comes in a range of colours and finishes. Assuming for an E30 you'll want something in the region of ET20-ET10? Shouldn't be a problem.
Drop me a line at admin(at sign)adventmotorsport.co.uk if you're interested. The ones below are the cut finish. 6.2kgs a wheel.

Can't speak from experience WRT that specific wheel design, however have observed that in general:- Cheapo Halfords type alloys are not very light weight
- Neither are they particularly strong, and can buckle / dent / warp badly when you smack them into kerbs / take to the grass.
Motorsport / rally styles look that way for a reason. Too cool brakes and be strong. They look "nice" as a bonus. Your 15" or 14" BMW BBS rims are likely to be a good budget alternative if your want to save a bit of cash.
Finally, never use steels! Your brakes will boil!!!
By far the cheapest way to buy those is to doorstep Matt or Steve Neal and ask for some "cosmetic seconds" (shiny wheels & subwoofer children don't like scratched rims), or even a good deal direct with Team Dynamics.
When I raced FWD cars (before the war, when I was a lad!), I had a habit of using every last bit of kerb, and wasn't shy when it came to really hammering things like the Goddard Chicane kerbs at Donington - even to the point of getting it on two wheels. My wheels survived because I balanced strength against weight, and strength wins every time. The wheels I used on my Vauxhall were Revolution RFX's - rally spec - so they were build like brick outhouses! I could have saved a kilo a corner by going to some funky lightweight jobbies, but I would have had to tame my full-on style, and that would have cost time per lap, and Steve Jones would be living in poverty because he didn't sell as many pictures
