As above really. The padding on mine isn't removable, what do you all use for cleaning ours?

There's a small Febreze pump action thingy in your supermarket, for lifting out nasty niffs. Beyond that, buy a couple of Sparce balaclavas, I find them far easier to fit in the washing machine.

I use a similar version of this :

Sprays on, foams up, leave for 5 mins, wipe excess off and leave to dry.

One freshened up helmet. Sir.

I got one of these at the beginning of the season and it ain't bad at all...

Essentially its a hot/cold air fan + ozone with an adapter so a race helmet sits on top of it with the air being circulated around the inside. The air dries the helmet lining and apparently the ozone helps to de-odourise/kill bacteria or something. You can also fit a pair of boots or a pair of gloves over the adapter.

Do you use a balaclava? I do and the inside of my helmet still smells new! Obviously the balaclava can then be washed like any nomex underwear can.

Same here, I always use a balaclava. One of my old trackday helmets is about 10 years old and still smells like new. In fact if I put my helmet on without a balaclava it feels wrong and very uncomfortable.

They certainly change the fit because of their thickness. My helmet is a little loose without the balaclava. It does help keep it fresh of course, plus I hope it'd be of use in a fire, especially around the neck area.
