Im looking at starting my own race team,I have a storage place for a car and a truck but im lacking some source off income either through a sponsor or someone who has the money that would like to be partner,Im looking at a televised and well coverage championship at club level and slowly progessing upwards,If anyone has any ideas or advice please contact me.Thanks

99.9% of people running and competing in UK club motorsport pay to compete and run.If the OP is looking to make a living out of running a team and finding some people to pay to drive his car, thats going to need a lot of investment and a track record...
If he's just trying to make a living from racing that is very hard...
Best plan is probably to get a jib with an existing team, whilst building prepping and running his own car at the weekend... out of his earnings.

Its also not the most reliable or most stable job of employment.
Without the background you wont get the interest in people coming to you to prep their cars.
Get in the pitlane at a meeting an hand out cv's to the team owner/principal. Offer to do a few weekends foc, get your face in the pitlane, meet some people. Theres not a massive amount of race mechanics on PH, most of them know how the system works - work of mouth and mates of mates.
Its a very quick way to lose alot of money easily, all it needs is one guy to do you over and thats it. Better work for someone else before going out on your own - theres a hell of alot goes on before the car turns a wheel on track.
Thanks,Im getting round the pits more and more now,I do have a rough idea of how things go after my formula ford job but still good to speak to others who have been doing it longer etc,Im looking t doing sprint or some small club races,taking it easy at first then build the contacts and knowledge as you say.Just like everything money is the main issue but thats life.
The only way to sucessfully run a team which produces you a 'sensible' amount of money is to compete at the highest levels were the rights value of sponsorship exceeds the costs of competition and the overheads but this brings with it extremely high barriers to entry. Most of the teams involved in both club and national motorsport scrape a living at best. The majority of the teams around that perhaps you consider to be 'targets' for your product style in the long run will be funded by drivers that have taken a stake in the team, or by team owners that are indulging a passion and have a career outside of motorsport as well.
