Thierry Neuville wears glasses and currently runs a bell, he’s previously worn Stilo.

Easiest thing to do would be to head to somewhere like demon tweeks to try them on.

I wear glasses and also have a helmet for motorsport use.
Mine is a Stilo Trophy open face helmet.

I use an open face because I can put the helmet on without taking my glasses off, however the key thing I find is that the arms of the glasses need to be really thin. Anything chunky with today’s super large and padded helmets make it difficult to wear glasses as they pinch into the arms of the glasses.

I would suspect that the same is true of full face helmets and clearly a balaclava adds to the snugness.

I guess a slightly larger helmet plus a balaclava might be ok, but I still think the thing to consider is the width ofthe arms of your glasses

I where glasses and went for a SPARCO RF-5W ,

I found that the SPARCO with the W suffix have a wider & taller openning than most helmets.

Get glasses without the hook on the arms. Just straight arms like some sunglasses. They made life so much easier for me.

I've found that a combination of thin arms with no curve and wearing a balaclava to work best, I also place the arms of the glasses on the outside of the balaclava as the helmet is sufficiently snug to hold them in place.

I have a large head and wear glasses with fairly standard frames (plus a balaclava). Have managed with Bell and Sparco closed helmets.

As someone else said, the best route would be to try a few on at DT or GP Racewear, if you’re not close to either, I know Demon Tweeks would happily sell you loads on sale or return…

I've always bought glasses to suit the helmet rather than the other way around. My go to is Oakley as they have straight arms and are a bit bendy to help with inserting through the visor hole and inside the balaclava, but other brands are available.

This

I wear glasses daily, but use contacts occasionally

Race days are some of those occasions, makes things much more straightforward

Realise you’ve bought one now but another vote for Bell here. Mine is a full face (open cockpit car) and I was worried about fogging up. At testing at Donington last Sunday I used Muc-Off Premium anti fog and am pleased to say it worked fine. In case anyone else was worrying about / has specs fogging issues!

Same, I took my helmet to the optician and tried them on together to find some narrow frames.

Turns out some people didn’t know I was a racing driver too, so that was a good way to spread the word.

Some helmets have dedicated channels in the cheek pads to prevent pressure on glasses.

If most size 60 helmets feel tight on your ears, look for brands with a slightly rounder internal shape.

Also Flip-Up (Modular) helmets are easier to put on without dislodging glasses.

The helmets below have glasses-friendly grooves, removable cheek pads, and good comfort:

1. Shoei GT-Air 2

2. Arai Quantic

3. Schuberth C5 (Modular)

4. HJC RPHA 71

5. AGV K6

6. Shoei Neotec 2 (Modular)

7. Scorpion EXO-1400 Air

8. Shark Spartan GT Carbon

9. Nolan N100-5 Plus (Modular)

10. LS2 Advant X (Modular)
